On 10 February, 54 associations of the French Cultural and Creative sector published a letter calling on the French government and European institution representatives to restore coherence between the spirit and the wording of the DSA, and in particular: to better fight against illegal offers and content, including beyond online marketplaces, and to avoid the weakening or even the questioning of the European and national acquis in terms of respect of intellectual property rights.

CEPI welcome this initiative fully in line with what our association has been advocating on DSA during the last months:

The DSA represents the biggest opportunity to clarify rules for the removal of illegal content, instead, reducing the liability of major digital players will weaken the rightsholders' ability to seek redress against pirated content.
